Localization & Dialectology - Scottish fishermen's dialect and localization information and services
Find out about localization, using a directory with most of the information
on localization that is
currently available on the Net. I try to keep this as up-to-date as possible but I also depend on your feedback as far as new tools, updates or interesting information are concerned, so please let me know if you would like something added or changed. I will always review your feedback and change the directory accordingly if this should be necessary. Further to the directory, we have a small online exercise where you can test your software localization testing skills.
Apart from our localization bookstore a small selection of some books on localization and internationalization that you can buy from there through amazon.com
we have a "localization tools" section that we will try to develop further so we can soon offer you a larger selection of software localization and TM tools. You can currently
buy
and download
Avral Tramigo (Flash localization solution for Macromedia® Flash™
professionals and translators) from there.
theverybestofstuff.de also includes an online shop for electronic dictionaries from Ectaco Inc. You can buy these dictionaries as well as software from Ectaco Inc. through our dictionary shop.
The latest addition to theverybestofstuff.de includes premium localization services in co-operation with our partner company. Please go to: www.rs-globalization.com for more information or for a free online quote.
Please let me know if you are a translator, an agency, a tools
vendor or in any way related to the localization industry.
Maybe you want to publish an article of yours or make some information available to the
localization community?
I'd be happy to hear from you.
This site is not all about localization but also on dialectology (another interest of mine) and you can check out the dialect of Scottish fishermen incl. a glossary with fish names
used in Scotland at the end of the 1920s. Please send me your thesis, talk, a glossary or any other material that is related to dialectology if you would like
more people to read it and make it available to the public for free.
Send me an e-mail.
